Eligibility requirements
WHO CAN APPLY?
Legally competent natural person(s) who:
- Adults who have not yet reached the age of 75,
- Possess a Hungarian tax identification number,
- Are Hungarian citizens, or have been residents of Hungary with a permanent address (based on an address card) or place of residence for at least 1 year, or are citizens of another EEA member state,
- Hold ownership shares or a lifelong usufruct right over the property to be renovated,
- Additionally, have no public or tax debt exceeding the gross minimum wage, no utility bill arrears exceeding the gross minimum wage that are older than 60 days, and are not listed on the Central Credit Information System (KHR).
WHAT TYPES OF PROPERTIES ARE ELIGIBLE?
- Built and occupied before 31 December 1990,
- Registered as a residential house, detached family house, semi-detached house, or terraced house,
- Has been continuously inhabited as a primary residence since at least 1 July 2024.
- The property subject to modernization must have been the permanent residence or place of residence (verified by an address card) of the Loan Applicant or their close relative before 1 July 2024.

Financial details
Maximum total investment cost: 7 million HUF.
Of which, the self-contribution is 14.3% (1 million HUF).
The remaining 6 million HUF is composed as follows: based on the ratio of the average income in the district where the property is located compared to the national average income, between 2.5 to 3.5 million HUF is provided as a non-refundable grant, with the remainder available as an interest-free loan.
Mandatory Commitment
Compared to the initial state before the project’s implementation, a reduction of at least 30% in primary energy consumption per building must be achieved. This reduction must be substantiated with a certified energy performance certificate.

Compensation
Our consulting services provided under the 2024 Home Renovation Program are completely free of charge. We only base our compensation on the Certified Energy Savings (HEM) achieved during the renovation.

Applications can be submitted until 31 December 2025, or until the loan fund is exhausted. Note: Modernizing heating systems with high-efficiency gas boilers is available only until the allocated funding for this purpose is exhausted, but no later than 31 December 2024.
