2004. 11. 19.

In association with Sun Microsystems Hungary, GKIeNET Internet Research and Consulting Ltd. and T-Mobile Hungary conduct quarterly surveys on the availability of information and communication technology tools and on internet usage in the corporate sector. The present report outlines the findings of the previous survey pertaining to corporate management systems.

The use of corporate management systems

At more than half of all businesses with five or more employees (56%), invoicing and payments are supported by information technology systems, while nearly one-third of them have similar applications for handling orders and purchases. Reorders are initiated using IT systems at only 22% of the corporations in question, while production and services are managed with the help of computers at one in five companies with logistics and marketing taking somewhat smaller shares (17% and 14%, respectively).

Integrated corporate management systems can be seen at 6% of businesses with computer access and 5+ employees.  There are substantial differences in the use of integrated corporate management systems by company size. As low as 3% of businesses with 5-19 workers and 7% of companies with 20-49 workers use integrated corporate management systems. The rate is significantly higher at companies with more than 50 employees: one out of five companies in the category of firms with 50-249 workers, and one out of two corporations in the category of 250+ workers have integrated corporate management systems.

38% of all companies established their integrated corporate management systems before 2000, 37% between 2000 and 2002, and one-fourth over the past two years (in 2003 or 2004). 21% of companies sized 50+ with integrated corporate management systems implemented their systems after 2001, while in the category of firms with fewer than 50 workers 46% launched these systems after 2001.
